Senior Operations Engineer
This company is searching for proactive operations engineer who can develop and maintain all aspects of our operations infrastructure, including system monitoring, server configuration, storage management and disaster recovery. Were looking for an individual who is capable of producing documentation, implementing automation and integrating systems. This individual will be a key member of our site operations team and should be prepared to work hard and smart. The candidate should also be motivated and prepared to:
- Develop and maintain Reputation.coms operations infrastructure, including
system monitoring and alerts, server configuration and network switching
- Supervise and support storage and systems management
- Provide on-call support on a rotating basis
- Assist in tracking datacenter issues and keep the service hardware
operating
- Optimize tuning, partitioning and scaling of the system
- Provide 24X7 monitoring and support, and in critical situations, provide
disaster recovery
- Monitor and maintain capacity and performance requirements
- Provide network management (routing/switching/firewalls) and system
troubleshooting
- Introduce process improvements and encourage best practices in site
operations
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in site operations
- Excellent scripting skills in Bash and one or more others (Python, Perl,
PHP, etc)
- Experience with cloud computing infrastructures, frameworks and tools
- High capability for data recovery and migration
- Rockstar level Linux skills
- Significant experience with MySQL
- Strong NoSQL skills (MongoDB, Hadoop is a plus)
- Thorough knowledge of current IT hardware, software and systems
- Able to lift/move 50 lbs of equipment on a daily basis
